The affiliate business philosophy is so simple and easy understandable by anyone, so it makes the wrong impression making money as affiliate is also easy.
But the statistics shows totally different thing: only 5% of all affiliates have seen affiliate check with their name on it and these are the optimistic numbers, some sources point at only 1% successful affiliates.
Why so easy business gets so small percentage of earners?

It gets more and more obvious, that SEO is no longer the ultimate instrument for fast and somehow tricky access to the first search engine result page. So, the most affordable website traffic resource became publishing articles in directories.
Now, a green webmaster is hearing about this wonderful opportunity affiliate marketing business, signs himself up in ten or more programs and starts writing articles to get traffic and back links to his website.
And because he has no experience and he follows the wrong advice of the same sort confused and ignorant "experts", he gets the same zero result.
This is the perfect example of what the Bible teaches about one blind man leading another - they both fall down into the trap. And we came to the next logical question: what is the value of the most published articles - yes, close to zero. It will hardly compensate the time you will lose searching for a pearl.

- If you write and publish a valuable article in a directory and research Google with your article title "quoted", on the top of the results you'll find your published article and not the copy on your own website. Thus way you are building traffic and ranking to the directory and not for your website.
- Get your advertising links clicked
- The link in your resource box will be surrounded with more than 20-30 advertising links what will reduce significantly the chance your link to be clicked.
- Don't let Google sabotage your own website
- Google is putting more and more emphasis on building valuable unique content and if you publish all your articles on your website and on a directory, Google must choose which one to include in its index, and because the directory has higher page rank and it brings Google more money, your own articles on your own website will be omitted.
If there is any truth in the viral marketing theory, doubtless this is the fact that the huge percent of the web marketing ignorance comes through published articles in hundreds of article directories.
