Domain Name - how to choose and register smartly
What I will tell you with certainty will surprise you – the choice of domain name and hosting company is NOT crucial to ultimate success of your internet business.

What are the most important things to consider when choosing a domain name?

The domain name may NOT contain any keyword and this is not a requirement for higher ranking in the search engines. What keyword contains google.com, yahoo.com, twitter.com or del.icio.us? NONE!
You don’t need to buy many domain names, since you can create subdomains of the type keyword.domain.com and there you can use keywords as much as you want.

register domain names in the .com area.
The most common problems in the domain name registration process
- Someone else is registering the domain name (webmaster or programmer, or hosting company) with his own email and when you cancel the relationship, it appears that you are not the owner of your domain.
- Losing the password for registration mail box – in this case you can not transfer your domain name to another company because you need access to the official contact mail box to prove the transfer.
- Missing the deadline for renewal – you have grace period of 40 days to renew the domain name registration with the normal price, then the domain name enters another period - redemptionperiod (for. eu - quarantine) and the removal out of it costs in the range of 60-200$.
- Use complex, strong passwords to protect your control panel access – because everyone with access to the control panel can change the whois data and transfer = steal your domain name.
- When you miss the registration date, the domain registrar will change the DNS settings of the domain and your website and your mail boxes will be not accessible. It will take another 24-48 hours after the renewal for DNS refreshment until finally everything start working properly again.
